Linda Wood-Hoyte isn’t just an inspiration to female lifters, or senior bodybuilders, she’s an inspiration to everyone who hears her story. She’s put in more time in the gym than most people, and it pays to listen when she has something to say.
She doesn’t just look good for her age, she looks good for any age.
This certified personal trainer turned 73 years old today, and if that doesn’t make you want to get off the couch and go put in some work, nothing will.

Most people in the ’70s are enjoying the autumns of their lives. Playing backgammon, going for walks if they’re lucky, maybe even travelling. It’s very rare to see someone still putting up numbers in the gym after all these years, but Linda isn’t your typical senior citizen. She’s in a class of her own.
She doesn’t just look good for somebody her age, she looks good for somebody half her age. Check out some of these recent pictures from the past few years, along with some vintage classics, and then check out the video that shows her putting up 500lbs on the leg press. Just insane. She also does 400 for reps right before that. The guy in the video takes credit and says she’s able to do this because of his supplement brand, but Linda herself deserves all of the credit for this.
Just amazing. There are guys in their ’20s walking around today that couldn’t dream of putting up 500lbs on the leg press, let alone 400. Some people call them Crossfitters. Linda has dedicated her life not only to building her own gains, but to helping others in her career as a personal trainer.
Some trainers are looking to cash in on getting paid to workout, but some of them have a real passion like Linda. She’s an inspiration to everybody who hears her story, and a legend of the sport.
In a sport where longevity is rare and a lot of high-level competitors are lucky to even see their 50s or 60s, let alone to still be putting in work, she’s running laps around the general population. It’s not a competition, but Linda is definitely winning at life.
