The latest criticism of the Mr. Olympia competition, and the latest page in their on-going saga with Kai Greene (Who didn’t compete last year), is that they’ve now posted a countdown on their Instagram and are trying to set off the hashtag “#WillKaiSign”.
This is definitely one of the least professional ways to go about things, but it shouldn’t be a huge surprise since the IFBB is turning into the WWE, and they’re clearly using this whole thing to bring more attention to their show through drama. And sadly, it’s working.
A lot of fans recognize that Kai is right up there at the top of the game, so it’s a bad look for the Olympia to not be able to come to terms and get him on that stage, but is this really the right way to do it? They want Kai, and we’re certain that Kai wants to get up there and dethrone Phil, so it’s just a matter of making it work.
But Kai’s probably happy just chillin’ and stacking up Arnold Classic wins, too.
So we would say “It’s your move, IFBB” except it looks like they’ve already played their hand, and played themselves.
