John Burk is a motivational fitness guy with a Facebook page where he posts videos of his thoughts on training and health. He never expected one of his videos to get this much attention, but when he posted this video it spread really quickly and he caught a lot of heat for fat shaming. In interview’s he has spoken out about how everything in America has to be sugarcoated these days, so obviously he doesn’t hold back in his videos.
Burk is a former Army Drill Sergeant, during his time in the Army he served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. All he wanted to do with this video was to motivate people, but the backlash was huge.
Here’s what John had to say in regards to people’s feelings being hurt by his video:
“You can’t walk out your front door these days without stepping on somebody’s feelings.”
Exactly.
John isn’t some random bully trying to hurt people’s feelings, he used to be obese himself, before he got in shape and started trying to help motivate other obese people to follow in his footsteps.

He used to be bullied himself, which is probably why he feels so passionately about this subject and will do whatever it takes to try to get through to people who are spreading dangerous misinformation, sugarcoating the truth, and putting themselves in danger when it comes to their health.
