Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson, famously known for his role as “The Mountain” on popular show, Game of Thrones, did not start out as big as many folks may think.
Lets follow his journey from young adulthood to where he has gotten now.
Regular Adult Life
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson is one of those humans that were blessed with Genetics that many would die for. From his early teenage years, he enjoyed playing basketball grew to a staggering 6 ft. 9 in. tall.
As you can see below, His transformation started out in his early adulthood. Towering of his friends, his body started to take form.
To maintain his size, he doubled down on eating and pretty much stopped all Cardio – fulfilling every bodybuilders dream of never having to do cardio again.
Worlds Strongest Man
Sitting in at a whopping 396 lbs – He was eating Full Meals every couple of hours to support his weight lifting and bulking schedule.
Eventually all the Time, effort, discipline and money really started to pay off when people took note of his weight lifting victories.
Drawing the attentions of film makers and directors, more likely due to his size than anything else, he was eventually cast in the popular show, “Game of Thrones.” In order to maintain his mass and sheer size, he took deliberate breaks from filming in order to eat enough to maintain his weight for the show.
Discipline, Self-Control and constant eating has let to his massive size and body composure. His meals and diet consists of mostly of Chicken, Potatoes, Fish, and other lean foods that are high in protein.

Hafþór become even more popular since winning Eurpoe’s strongest Man contest 2 times in the row, 2014 & 2015.
