Mike O’Hearn has made a name for himself in the fitness and bodybuilding world not just based on his near-perfect physique, but also based on the claim that he has achieved it all naturally.
Now, just to get it out of the way, we don’t have any evidence that Mike is on the sauce, and we’re not going to say that any of his natty claims are false. We’re not the steroid police, we’re not even looking for evidence, it’s his business… but it’s kind of irresponsible to say that you’re all natty IF you’re juicing because it gives unrealistic goals to people who are just starting out and don’t realize what’s possible through hard work and genetics, and what requires a little extra boost. So we’re not here saying that Mike isn’t the greatest all-natural athlete on the planet, that’s not our job.
But Jason Blaha is making that exact claim, he says Mike’s physique is absolutely impossible to achieve without roids.
But you don’t even need roids when you got The Frog!
Here’s Mike’s $1500 workout contraption called The Frog, because of how you look while using it.
Anyways…
The trouble with saying someone is on roids is it kind of diminishes their achievements. It often implies that it’s not hard work, eating perfect, busting their ass in the gym that got them there… that it’s just the juice, when in reality it’s all of the above. Still, there’s a fine line between claiming natty with a wink, or going full Lance Armstrong.
Muscle & Fitness recently ran a 4 page piece about “Whether it’s possible” that Mike is natural, and Jason tore it apart in this recent video.
These two guys have had back-and-forths in the past.
“No rational, reasonable person who knows anything about exercise science, has been around training for years, who knows how these things work, would even consider the possibility that Mike is natural.” – Jason Blaha
He says the claim is so insane that anybody who would even ask the question has no idea what they’re talking about, and that it’s embarrassing for people who are actually in the industry to support his claims. Jason goes on to claim that anybody who supports Mike’s claims is guilty by association of being a hustler.
If somebody is selling all of these incredibly expensive products and saying it’s the reason they’re huge, but leaving out the fact that they’re also juicing, that’s downright shady. That’s exactly what Jason claims in his video, check it out.
So where do you guys stand on it? Hope back over to FB and leave a comment. Natty or nah?
Either way, there’s no denying that Mike has put in a TON of hard work. He’s been at this practically his entire life, and is one of the more successful guys in the industry. Any time you reach that level of success, there’s going to be haters – but sometimes, once in a blue moon, the hater’s are actually justified. Form your own opinions on this one.
