Remember ’Russian Popeye’ (real name Kirill Tereshin ) who injected a homemade version of synthol into his arms to make them freaky massive? Well according to doctors, those arms may need to be amputated.
In case you don’t know about synthol, it’s a dangerous yet legal substance used by many bodybuilders to make muscles look bigger. Yep, Tereshin’s arms are big and weird looking, but they’ve gained no strength through the use of synthol.
Also, Tereshin decided that injecting a dangerous substance into his arms was just too darned expensive, so made his own out of olive oil, lidocaine and benzyl oil. Because, it’s a great idea to shove any old thing into your muscles and hope for the best.
Concerns were sparked when the Russian ex-soldier chillingly posted on Instagram that his “bazooka arms are about to fall off.”
Russian Doctor Professor Evgeny Lilin told the Mirror “…abscesses will develop, then inflammation and (there is significant risk of) a stroke.” Tereshin has since deleted his Instagram accounts and given up on his dream of a million followers, but Evgeny says that the damage has already been done.
“The bad thing is that Synthol or its equivalent will remain in his muscles for the next five to seven years even if he stops adding more.”
Another genius to risk limbs through injected synthol is Romario Dos Santos Alves, who had to have synth ‘rocks’ surgically remove as an emergency alternative to amputation. But hey, at least his arms looked like he had shoved a balloon into his bicep and then half blown it up.
